Billboards are a basic means of outdoor advertising. Depending on the length of an advertising campaign, they are printed on paper (2-3 months) or on a more resistant material, such as self-adhesive foil or tarpaulin material. Most billboards feature multiple pieces that are glued onto panels in cities, on buildings or along roads and primarily serve an informational purpose. Big boards and mega boards are similar but with larger dimensions and are made of more durable materials given the longer service life that is required.

Citylights are primarily used in cities on busy streets and squares with a lot of pedestrian traffic. Their primary distinguishing characteristic is that they are backlit in the dark or during the day when located in areas without sunlight.

They are printed using a special technique, where printing from the front is complemented by printing a mirror image of the same printing on the rear with a lower colour density. This ensures the colour scheme stays the same during daylight and when backlit.
