From a printing perspective, books are simply stitched or glued blocks of sheets or folded sheets of paper, cardboard or other material, printed or blank with soft, semi-rigid or hard binding used for professional, commercial or cultural presentation.

Books are produced using different technologies while their technical specifications are quite diverse and have many specifics. The final selection of a printing technology is primarily dependent on the total requested printing run, the required level of quality and the type of book. The binding type is primarily selected based on the number of pages in the book and its intended use, with certain adaptations to the design concepts of the client. V1, V2 and V4 bindings are more typically used for brochures while hard V8 binding is used for standard books. We can even face hard book boards upon request with cloth, artificial leather, a foil facing or paper.
